Free family event with autism resources, provider connections and activities for children with autism and special needs.
CHILL ACT is coming to the Phyllis Wheatley Heritage Center on Saturday, November 7, from 11 AM to 2 PM. It's a resource fair for families with children on the autism spectrum and other special needs, put on by Children's Health Inclusion Learning Leadership.
The main draw is the resource side of things: the event brings together providers and services in one room, so you can find autism resources and connect with the people who run them without having to track them down one by one. If you've been looking for a place to start or just want to see what's available in the city, this is a good spot to do it.
It's not just about the paperwork, though. They've set up a few things to keep the kids occupied while you're talking to providers: there will be screens for them to use, face painting, and therapy dogs to hang out with. It's designed as a family event, so the kids can do their own thing while you get the information you're after.
