Indie rock band Ax and The Hatchetmen play Delmar Hall on their Late Check Out Tour, with singer-songwriter John-Robert.
Ax and The Hatchetmen bring their Late Checkout Tour to Delmar Hall on Friday, November 20. They're a six-piece indie rock band fronted by Axel Ellis, and the tour is a coast-to-coast run. The band's sound is built on jangly tunes and sunburnt guitars, and they've been on the road for nearly a decade, growing from high school hallways outside Chicago to millions of listeners.
Opening the bill is John-Robert, a singer-songwriter who first made a name for himself as a thirteen-year-old child prodigy on The Ellen Show. He left his hometown of Edinburg, Virginia, in 2019 to move to Los Angeles, where he signed to Nice Life/Warner through producer Ricky Reed and earned co-signs from Alessia Cara and Camila Cabello. In 2023, a live fireside performance of "Come Pick Me Up" brought his blend of traditional folk and Appalachian country into the modern pop spotlight. Since then, he's toured extensively, spending 2023 and 2024 supporting artists like Madi Diaz, Rayland Baxter, Leon Bridges, and Liam Gallagher.
