Authority Zero play The Golden Record in the Cherokee Arts District with Counterpunch, performing their 2021 album 'Ollie Ollie Oxen Free'.
Authority Zero bring their Apocalyptour 2026 to The Golden Record on Friday, October 23, with Counterpunch opening. The tour centers on Ollie Ollie Oxen Free, the band's 2021 album, which they wrote during the pandemic and took its title from the game of hide-and-seek. They've described it as an encouragement for fans to come out and celebrate life, and it was recorded at The Blasting Room in Fort Collins with producer Bill Stevenson, who's known for his work with Black Flag and Descendents.
Authority Zero formed in the mid-90s in Mesa, Arizona, when a group of high school friends got together. Over the last two decades, they've built a sound that blends melodic punk, reggae, and ska. Their debut, A Passage in Time (2002, Lava Records), launched their career, and they've toured extensively since then alongside acts like Pennywise, Sum 41, and Flogging Molly, playing the European festival circuit as well as dates in Japan, Australia, and Russia. Singer Jason DeVore is the band's longest-running member.
