Ana Gasteyer shares cheeky holiday tunes from her album Sugar & Booze, conducted by Stuart Malina with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
Ana Gasteyer brings her Sugar & Booze Holiday Spectacular to Powell Hall on Tuesday, December 22, as part of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra's concert season. It's a single performance, running an hour and 40 minutes without an intermission, so you'll be in your seat for the whole thing.
Gasteyer is a musician, comedian, and actor, and a Saturday Night Live alum. The show is built around her album Sugar & Booze, which the Los Angeles Times called "an uproarious homage to Christmas albums of old" and that reached the Billboard Jazz Top 5. On stage, she pairs vintage holiday standards with her own witty, offbeat songs, telling stories of festive frolic. It's a mix of the familiar and her own material, and it's presented as part of the SLSO's season.
She's not doing this solo. Gasteyer is on vocals, with Stuart Malina conducting and musicians from the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra providing the accompaniment. The whole thing is presented by the SLSO, and it's held at Powell Hall in Grand Center, the orchestra's home in St. Louis.
