Interactive ghost hunt activity led by paranormal experts Andrew Frewing-House and James Kemp, allowing visitors to handle equipment and participate in experiments within the historic Tudor House.
Tudor House & Garden is hosting a ghost hunt on Saturday 31 October, from 8pm until midnight. It's an interactive night led by paranormal experts Andrew Frewing-House and James Kemp, and it's set in one of Southampton's oldest landmarks. The house has more than 800 years of history behind it, starting as King John's Palace before expanding into the building that stands today, with Sir John Dawtrey among its owners and the man credited with creating it.
Local tradition has it so haunted that former custodians and owners refused to enter certain parts after dark. Among the reported ghosts are a dark spirit wandering the corridors and a young lady on the first floor. On the night, you'll get to handle paranormal equipment and take part in experiments led by Frewing-House and Kemp, who have run the award-winning Southampton Ghost Tours for nearly two decades.
Both have a long history with the city's paranormal side. Andrew Frewing-House conducted the first paranormal investigation at the house and says he's seen a Victorian gentleman walk through the building; his work has appeared on radio, in magazines and in a local book. James Kemp has appeared on television, including ITV1, and has worked as a medium in the UK and the US. Together they'll be guiding the group through the house and running the experiments.
