The Hoosiers bring their high-energy live show to Engine Rooms, with new album Compassion.
The Hoosiers are playing Engine Rooms on Sunday 18 October, their first Southampton date in a while. They're touring their new album, Compassion, and this is a full-band show, which is a bit of a change from the record-store acoustic tour they've been running to introduce the new material.
If you're coming to them from the early days, you'll recognise the singles that put them on the map: 'Worried About Ray', 'Goodbye Mr A' and 'Choices'. Those are the songs that built their reputation for infectious hooks and sharp lyricism, and they're the kind of things that usually get a room singing along. The new album Compassion sits alongside them, so the set will pull from both ends of their catalogue.
The band describes the night as one for fans who've followed them since the first record and for those just discovering them. They're known for high-energy live shows, and they've talked about singalong choruses, hands-in-the-air moments and plenty of chances to dance. It's a full-band set, so it'll be a louder, bigger affair than the acoustic dates they've been doing lately.
