The Blow Monkeys, a British pop band with hits like 'Digging Your Scene', perform at The Brook with support from Jaz Delorean and Champions of Soul.
The Blow Monkeys play The Brook on Friday 11 September, with doors at 7:30 PM and the show starting around 8:00 PM. It's a British band whose career has run for over forty years, stretching from the underground club scene to worldwide hits like 'Digging Your Scene' and 'It Doesn't Have To Be This Way'.
In the 1980s they worked with a wide range of names: Curtis Mayfield, Paul Weller, Cheb Khaled and Jamaican toaster EEK-a-Mouse. Drummer Dr Robert put out one of the UK's first homegrown house records, 'Wait', a top five duet with Chicago soul diva Kym Maselle. They also appeared on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack with 'You Don't Own Me', which remains one of the biggest-selling soundtracks of all time. Their 1986 album Animal Magic was later re-released as a four-CD boxset.
