The Art Club for Adults with Sarah L Goy

The Art Club for Adults is back at Southampton City Art Gallery on Saturday 19 December, the final session of an autumn series that runs from September through to the end of the year. It's a creative group for grown-ups run by the gallery and led by artist Sarah L Goy, built around the idea of taking time out: switch off your phone and slow down.

Each month the group works from a different point of inspiration and explores different media, with the focus on experimentation and exploration rather than a finished product. That's the whole point of it — it's about the process of making, not what you end up with. All materials are provided, so you just need to turn up. The sessions are for adults aged 18 and over, and they're designed as a space to get stuck in without any pressure to produce a masterpiece.

This particular date is part of a four-session run across the autumn: 26 September, 31 October, 28 November and 19 December. You can buy tickets for each session individually, or get a discounted price if you book all four at once. If you're only fancying one, the 19 December one is the last of the lot, so it's a good way to cap off the year with something creative.

Tickets are £19.00, and the session runs from 2pm to 4pm at the gallery on Commercial Road, Southampton, Hampshire SO14 7LP.
