If you're not familiar with the Jam, it's a Southampton-based ukulele collective that's been running since 2008. This year marks its 18th anniversary, and the film centres on the group's most ambitious project yet. Last year, they set the British record for the longest jam ever recorded, playing continuously for 30 hours inside God's House Tower. The documentary follows that marathon session, so you'll see the whole thing unfold on screen rather than just hearing about it in the pub.
It's a charity screening, and the money goes to the four causes the SUJ supports: No Limits, Society of St James, Mountbatten Hampshire, and Yellow Door. The group has a target of raising £18,000 in its 18th year, and this screening is part of that effort. There's an optional black-tie dress code, so if you fancy dressing up for the occasion, you're more than welcome to, though it's entirely up to you.
The screening starts at 18:00 on Monday 29 June. It's a pay-as-you-feel night, with a suggested donation of £5 to £10 per person. You'll need to book your place in advance and then pay on the night, with all proceeds split between the four charities.
