A day of investigation and discovery for children aged 6 to 12, led by museum educators with the theme Curious Creatures!
Southampton Culture Club for Kids is back at SeaCity Museum this August, with Week 4 themed Curious Creatures!. It runs from Monday 24 to Wednesday 26 August, 9am to 4pm, and is for children aged 6½ to 12. The sessions are run by the museum's own team of educators, who build the days around fun, creative activities that draw on the past and on the collections of the museum and the city's Art Gallery, which the group visits on occasion. Each session is themed around the museum's holdings, and the children take home pieces of artwork they've made.
Southampton Cultural Services organises the week, and the museum's education team is available to talk through any extra support a child might need. The programme is built with accessibility in mind: there are disabled toilets, neurodivergent-friendly spaces, disabled parking, and a bus stop just 100m away. It's designed for children who learn through doing, so the focus is on making and exploring rather than sitting still.

All three days together cost £90, or you can book a single day for £35. The sessions are currently sold out, so if you're looking for a spot, it's worth checking in with the museum. The museum is at Havelock Road, Southampton, SO14 7FY, and drop-off is from 8.45am.
