A portrait drawing workshop led by Peter Cambouropoulos at the Southampton City Art Gallery, open to all levels of ability from beginners to experienced artists.
Peter Cambouropoulos is leading a portrait drawing workshop at Southampton City Art Gallery on Friday 17 July, from 10am to 2:30pm. It's a morning and early afternoon session, so you'll be out by half past two.
The setup is straightforward: you'll be drawing from a live model, with Cambouropoulos running the room. It's open to adults and anyone over 16, and they're welcoming all levels, from complete beginners to experienced artists. The idea is that you'll get support to help you develop your own style rather than just following a set of instructions, so it works whether you've never picked up a pencil or you've been drawing for years.
There's a short lunch break built in, but a couple of things to keep in mind about food and drink. There are no refreshments available inside the gallery space itself, so you'll need to step out for that. You can use the foyer area or the gallery café, where participants get a ten per cent discount. All the drawing materials are provided, so you don't need to bring a thing, though you're more than welcome to bring your own if you have a particular set you prefer.
