Jay Buchanan plays The Attic on Thursday 23 July, one of the intimate live shows he's running to support his debut solo album, Weapons Of Beauty. If you know him as the frontman of Rival Sons, this is a bit of a shift — he's stepping out from the band to do his own thing, and these smaller dates are where he's playing the new material.

Weapons Of Beauty is his first solo record, so the set is built around it. It's a different way of hearing his voice than you get with Rival Sons, and these shows are stripped back enough to let the songs stand on their own. He's touring the album across a series of smaller venues, and this is the Southampton stop on that run.

It's a solo bill, so it's just Jay on stage. He's the only name on the line-up, and the set is focused on the new record he's out supporting. If you've followed his work with Rival Sons, this is a chance to hear him working on his own material, away from the band format.
