Art Then! Free Family Fun Day funded by the Arts Society Southampton

Southampton City Art Gallery is hosting Art Then!, a free family fun day on Sunday 15 November, from 11am to 3.30pm. It's a day of art activities for all ages, and the whole thing is funded by the Arts Society Southampton.

If you've never spent much time in the gallery, it's a good place to start. The collection there is internationally renowned and tells the story of European art from the Renaissance to the present day, so you're getting a long stretch of art history under one roof. Beyond the permanent collection, the gallery runs workshops, talks and tours for visitors of all ages, and this family day fits right into that.

Because it's aimed at families, the activities are set up for all ages to join in, so it works whether you're bringing small children or a mix of different generations. The funding from the Arts Society Southampton keeps it free, and that extends to the rest of the building too: admission to all exhibitions is free, so you can wander through the galleries before or after the activities. It's a Sunday morning and afternoon, 11am to 3.30pm, at Southampton City Art Gallery.
