Hands-on Art for All workshop to design and print a pangolin on a polytile block.
Southampton City Art Gallery is hosting Print a Pangolin on Friday 24 July, a hands-on workshop where you design and print a pangolin on a polytile block. It's part of Art for All, the ongoing workshop series run by Southampton Cultural Services right there in the gallery.
If you've never been, the gallery opened in 1939 in the city's Cultural Quarter and pulls in a real mix — art lovers, curious amateurs, and people who just enjoy the atmosphere of a gallery. The exhibitions range from painting, sculpture and drawing to photography and film, with permanent collections and displays that change regularly. Entry is free, and the venue sits right next to SeaCity Museum, catering for families with gallery trails, monthly art clubs and a wide range of activities for all ages.

This particular session is open to adults, and if you're bringing a young person along, there's a free accompanying adult ticket. All under-16s need to be accompanied, so it's a good one to do with a child or a teenager. The workshop runs across three separate sessions throughout the day: 10:30am to 12:00pm, 12:30pm to 2:00pm, and 2:30pm to 4:00pm, so you can pick the slot that fits your morning or afternoon. It costs £8 a place, and you'll find the gallery at the Civic Centre North Block, Commercial Road, Southampton, Hampshire SO14 7LP.
