Art for All: Christmas Keepsake Ceramic Baubles

Southampton City Art Gallery is hosting a Christmas bauble workshop on Sunday 8 November, run by Southampton Cultural Services. It's a morning session where you get to decorate your own pre-fired ceramic Christmas baubles with underglaze colours, and the whole thing is guided by New Forest ceramic artist Amy Morris.

The baubles are 2D ceramic shapes, and you can hand-print or decorate them with names, ages or special quotes before painting and glazing them under Morris's direction. The finished pieces are then fired by the artist and delivered back for collection within two weeks, so you'll have a proper ceramic keepsake ready for the tree rather than something you take home wet. It's suitable for children under four, so it works as a family activity if you've got little ones.

Morris is a New Forest ceramic artist who studied Art at the University of Exeter and specialises in ceramics. She runs her own pottery classes and delivers workshops across the city, including at SeaCity Museum, Tudor House & Garden and the gallery itself. She'll be on hand throughout the session to help you get your bauble just right.

There are two sessions to choose from on the morning of Sunday 8 November: 11am to 11.30am and 12noon to 12.30pm, each costing £12.00. Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer yours to a friend if you can't make it. The gallery is on Commercial Road, Southampton, SO14 7LP.
