Return of XPANSIONS, the legendary Sheffield soul, funk and disco Boxing Day party founded in 1998, with KC and Careless.
XPANSIONS is back at Arundel Emporium on Saturday 26 December, bringing a Sheffield soul, funk and disco night back to the city after twenty-eight years. It's a Boxing Day party, and for those who remember the original, that's exactly where it belongs. The night was founded in 1998 by KC and Mister T, and it became the one the city's soul, funk and disco crowd built their Boxing Day tradition around: whistles and horns in hand, dancing until late every year.
This return is dedicated to the memory of Mister T and Magic, whose spirit lives on in nights like this one. KC is bringing Xpansions back, joined on the decks by Careless, a DJ and friend who reignited that same spark and brings his own flavour to the floor. The music will run from soul, funk and disco through to the classics and nu soul, starting from nine pm and going until late. It's not a one-off, either: the party is the start of Xpansions building towards bigger nights on bank holidays to come.
