Guided Christmas door wreath making workshop with a luxury afternoon tea at Renishaw Hall & Gardens, suitable for beginners.
Renishaw Hall & Gardens is hosting a Christmas wreath making workshop on Saturday 21 November, starting at 13:00 in the Rex Whistler room. It's one of those proper autumn afternoons that gets you sorted for December a bit early, and it's set in the gardens just outside Sheffield.
The day starts with a quintessential Renishaw Hall afternoon tea, with a bar on hand if you fancy something more than tea. Once that's out of the way, Sue of Floral Inspiration takes over to show you how to put together a seasonal Christmas door wreath. It's a hands-on session, and she's described it as suitable for beginners, so you don't need to be any good with a pair of shears to get one finished. All the materials are provided on the day, though you're encouraged to bring a strong pair of scissors or secateurs, a protective apron, and any personal baubles or accessories you want to tuck into yours.
There's a bit of a twist at the end, too: the wreaths are raffled away, so you might not be taking yours home. But there's a prize draw for a Renishaw Hall Gardens 'Family Day' pass worth £35, valid for 12 months, which is a decent consolation if you don't walk away with your wreath. Parking is available on site, so you can drive in from Sheffield without worrying about the walk back.
