Unified Dating - Meet Singles in Sheffield

Unified Dating are running a speed dating afternoon in Sheffield on Sunday 25 October, starting at 16:00. The venue is a secret one in the city centre, postcode S1 2GY, with the exact spot revealed closer to the date. Tickets start from £17.99.

The whole thing is built as an alternative to dating apps, on the idea of meeting new people face-to-face in a relaxed, informal environment rather than swiping on a screen. The format is straightforward: you get three to five minutes for each one-to-one conversation, and you mark down the people you'd like to see again. After the session, the organiser connects the mutual matches.

Unified Dating usually groups their nights by age, with separate sessions for 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, and sometimes by profession or interest. A free glass of prosecco on arrival is standard. They also run Astrology singles nights and Elite Speed Dating aimed at graduates and professionals.

There are a couple of practical things to keep in mind. The ticket price only covers the booking, so you're expected to order your own food and drinks at the venue. The organiser doesn't put staff on the night, so contact details are exchanged between attendees themselves. If you're coming with a friend, there's a 'Bring A Friend' code that can cut the cost for them by up to 50%.
