Tree Creatures: clay creations

Tree Creatures: clay creations is a pottery workshop running at the 3rd Glossop Air Scout Group on Saturday 31 October, starting at 12:30. It's a hands-on session where you get to make your own tree creatures out of clay, with the whole thing taking inspiration from Halloween. If you've never worked with clay before, it's a good place to start—you'll spend the afternoon shaping your own little figures from scratch.

The workshop is part of Samhain: A Weekend Festival, a wider programme put on by Arkane Collective. The festival takes its name from Samhain, the Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter, traditionally associated with the thinning of the veil between this world and the next. It's a fitting theme for a Halloween-inspired clay session, and this workshop is just one of the things they've got lined up across the weekend.

As for the practical side, it's held at the 3rd Glossop Air Scout Group, 49 Hope Street, Glossop, SK13 7SB. The session kicks off at 12:30 on Saturday 31 October, so it's a midday start that leaves you the rest of the afternoon and evening free. If you're around Sheffield and fancy spending a bit of your Halloween weekend getting your hands dirty and making something, this is a solid way to do it.
