Open mic night at Showroom Cinema where poets, storytellers and writers of all styles bring their work to the stage.
The Words Are Coming is back at Showroom Cinema on Thursday 26 November, from 19:00. It's the cinema's monthly open mic, a regular fixture at the Showroom Bar in the city centre that invites writers of all styles to bring their work to the stage.
They describe it as a safe, open and honest space for poets, storytellers, writers, creatives and anyone with something to say to express themselves through the microphone. The appeal is that it doesn't matter where your work is at: it could be a piece you've been polishing for some time, something raw and unfinished, or simply a few words to share with a room of creative people. The night is open to all styles, so you'll likely hear a mix of poetry, storytelling and prose rather than one particular thing.
