Live show by the Leeds folk-rock band The Dunwells at The Library Cafe & Restaurant on Leeds Road.
The Dunwells play The Library Cafe & Restaurant (also known as The Library by Lounge) on Sunday 15 November, with the set starting at 6:00pm. Tickets are £21.50, which includes the booking fee.
They're a Leeds folk-rock outfit formed in 2009 around brothers Joseph Dunwell, on vocals and guitar, and David Dunwell, who handles vocals, piano, banjo and guitar. They're joined by two school friends, Rob Clayton on bass and Adam Taylor on drums; it was the Dunwells' father who taught Clayton how to play. Growing up in a musical house filled with their dad's Bob Dylan and Beatles records and their mum singing Motown, the band grew from school songwriting into a sound built on lush four-part vocal harmonies that blend acoustic and electric instrumentation. The harmonies are the thing that usually gets the most attention, and they've drawn comparisons to Mumford & Sons and Fleet Foxes as well as the Eagles and Crosby, Stills & Nash.
They've toured the UK, Europe and the US extensively, supporting Australian artist Pete Murray, and have played Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo, as well as appearing on Late Night With Jay Leno. Their 2013 debut Blind Sighted Faith was followed by Something in the Water in 2019. The set on the 15th will be just them, with the full line-up on stage.
