Community-focused spoken word show by The Clause, a Birmingham act, at the Octagon Centre, standing only and for over-14s.
The Clause are playing the Octagon Centre on Friday 11 December, a Birmingham band coming up to Sheffield for a night that's a bit different from your usual gig. It's billed as a community-focused spoken word performance, and that's exactly what it is: they're taking time out to talk about tour life and the big influences that have shaped them. If you're used to them as a band, this is the flip side — the talking part of the act brought right to the front.
They're from Birmingham, and the show is presented by SJM Concerts. The whole thing is spoken word, so you'll be hearing them talk through the realities of life on the road and the things that have stuck with them along the way. It's a community-focused night, and the focus is as much on the conversation as it is on the performance.
It's a standing-only room with a capacity of around 480, so it's not a tiny space, but it's not a massive hall either. The night is for over-14s only, so keep that in mind if you're thinking of bringing anyone younger. The Octagon Centre is on Clarkson Street in Sheffield, S10 2TQ, so it's easy enough to find.
