Tenacious G

Tenacious G play Corporation on Friday 23 October, the UK's premier Tenacious D tribute taking on the city centre for one night. The set is built around The Pick of Destiny, the 2006 film that sent the original duo into the mainstream, and the show marks twenty years since it first came out.

Rather than just running through the soundtrack, they weave the film's story through the night, mixing the plot with other Tenacious D hits. It's a full-on tribute to the Jack Black and Kyle Gass project, so expect the same mix of acoustic guitar and over-the-top rock energy. They describe the show as containing strong language, face-melting solos and 'trace amounts of hot demon gel', and it brings out movie characters like the Sasquatch and the Devil along for the ride.

Corporation is one of South Yorkshire's most beloved live music destinations and a cornerstone of the city's scene, with a reputation as one of the top three live band venues and alternative music nightclubs in the UK. It's a room that knows its way around a loud guitar, and it's exactly the kind of place this kind of show belongs. The night is restricted to over-14s, so it's one to keep in mind if you're bringing younger ones along.

Tickets are £16.50, and the night runs from 7:00pm to 10:30pm, with last entry at 10pm. If you're planning on arriving later in the evening, just make sure you're through the doors by then.
