Stand-up comedy show about the climate crisis by Stuart Goldsmith, performing his set 'Canary' at The Foundry.
Stuart Goldsmith brings his new show Canary to The Foundry on Friday 6 November, his second hour of climate comedy. It follows Spoilers (2023), which won Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival and played to sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Fringe. Goldsmith has built his following as a climate comedian, and Canary continues that work.
He's a well-known face in comedy circles, though you might recognise him from something entirely different: he's the regular studio warm-up comic for The Graham Norton Show. He's also appeared on BBC's Live at the Apollo, and his stand-up has been staged at the Edinburgh Fringe, the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Just For Laughs Montreal and SXSW. He's been a Fringe regular since 2006, having started out as a street performer at 17.
Beyond the stage, he's a writer and podcaster. His podcast The Comedian's Comedian celebrated its 500th episode this year, with over 30 million downloads and interviews with the likes of Jimmy Carr, James Acaster, Bo Burnham and Sarah Millican. Before each gig, he hosts a free pre-show meet-up with People Planet Pint, where the conversation turns to local sustainability.
