Drop-in evening of interactive Spanish board games followed by a relaxed Spanish social, run by Nory Sike.
Spanish Boardgame & Socials is back at Hideaway on Wednesday 21 October, part of the weekly Spanish meetups run by Nory Sike. The night is split into two halves: from 6pm to 7pm it's interactive Spanish games, and from 7pm it opens up into a relaxed social. The games are matched to different levels, so you can find a group that fits where you're at and ease into speaking without feeling out of your depth.
It's worth knowing that these aren't for total beginners — the recommendation is that your Spanish is at least around level 2. The games are provided, but you're more than welcome to bring your own along if you've got a favourite you'd like to share. The whole thing is casual and lightly structured, designed to get you talking rather than staring at a textbook.
Beyond the weekly meetups, this is part of Spanish Socials, which Nory Sike describes as the UK's first and only Spanish language retreat provider and community hub. It's a broader community of language lovers, cultural enthusiasts and lifelong learners, with cooking courses, urban retreats, coffee and brunch afternoons, a book club, and summer and winter parties. The meetups are the regular anchor of that, and they go a bit further than your standard language exchange.
