Informal cheese tasting evening with eight themed cheeses, including some 'extreme' ones, and a short presentation on cheesemaking.
Homage2Fromage is bringing EXTREME Cheese! to The Hideaway on Tuesday 27 October, from 7 pm to 10 pm. It's part of their line of informal cheese experiences, and the format is straightforward: you help yourself to the cheese and drink what you like throughout the evening.
The night is built around eight curated, themed cheeses, with the 'extreme' ones taking centre stage — the bluest blue, the softest soft, the hardest. A short presentation threads the stories behind them together, walking you through what you've been eating and something of the craft of cheesemaking. It's a tasting that lets you work through the board at your own pace, with the talk filling in the gaps.
Homage2Fromage runs similar gatherings in other cities, too. There's one in Harrogate, and one in Leeds at The Adelphi, which they call 'the mothership', and another in Peterborough at the Brewery Tap. This one is the Sheffield stop on that circuit.

On the practical side, some of the cheese isn't vegetarian or pasteurised, but there are no nuts, and allergy information is provided. Tickets range from £22 to £120, and the whole thing runs from 7 pm to 10 pm at The Hideaway, 61 Eyre Lane, Sheffield City Centre, S1 3GF.
