Sound bath session led by Sally Blyth at the Sharrow Performing Arts Space in Nether Edge.
Sally Blyth is leading a sound bath at Sharrow Performing Arts Space on Sunday 8 November, starting at 3:00 PM. It's a mid-afternoon session, so you'll be out well before dark, and it's held in Nether Edge, just up the hill from the city centre.
If you've never been to one, the basic idea is that you lie down and let the sound do the work. A sound bath isn't a performance in the usual sense — there's no stage to watch or set to follow. Instead, the room fills with tones and vibrations from bowls, gongs, or other instruments, and you just stay there and let them wash over you. It's less about listening and more about feeling the sound move through the space.
Sally Blyth is the one running this session, and she'll be the one controlling the sound throughout. The whole thing is built around that single focus: the sound she creates and the way it fills the room. There's no other act on the bill, so it's just her and the instruments for the duration.
