Free festive independent book fair with northern independent publishers and local booksellers, author chats and book signings at The Mowbray.
Northodox Press are hosting the Sheffield Winter Book Fair at The Mowbray on Saturday 28 November, from 10:00 to 15:30. It's their first festive independent book fair in the city, and they've brought together a selection of northern independent publishers and local booksellers under one roof. If you're looking for something to give the bookish people in your life, it's a good place to pick up a few seasonal gifts in one go.
The publishers on the list cover a fair bit of ground. You'll find Northodox Press themselves alongside Comma Press, The Poetry Business, Ragpicker Press, and Longbarrow Press, with Vertebrate Publishing and Yew and Blackthorn Books also there. There are smaller presses in the mix too, like Fly on the Wall Press, Stairwell Books, Intergraphia Books, and Jude and the Book Factory. On the bookselling side, Hillsborough Bookshop and Juno Books will have their stalls set up, so you can browse a range of titles from different houses in the same room.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Sheffield and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's not just about the books, though. There's a chance to chat with an author or two and have a few things signed, and cake and coffee will be served in the venue throughout the morning. If you're coming with a specific list in mind, it's a handy way to tick off a few gifts in one sitting; if you're just browsing, it's a decent spot to see what the northern independent scene is putting out. The Mowbray is at 118 Mowbray Street, Neepsend, S3 8EN, and it's free to attend, so you can just turn up between 10:00 and 15:30.
