A workshop where participants explore and act scenes from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol with a professional director.
Sheffield People's Theatre is running a scene study on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at the Crucible Rehearsal Room on Saturday 19 December, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. It's a morning workshop where you'll spend two hours working through scenes from the story, acting them out and breaking them down with a professional director.
The session is part of the monthly Sheffield People's Theatre programme, which has been a fixture of Sheffield Theatres' offer to the city for years. In October 2026, they launched a new regular strand for the local creative community to get stuck into theatre, run by their Creative Engagement Director, Amy, a professional director who leads the sessions in partnership with that community. The workshops combine script work, play reading and scene study, and a professional director works through scenes using the same techniques employed in professional rehearsal rooms.
