Sheffield Character Matched Speed Dating at Home

The Live Round are running a character-matched speed dating night for Sheffield locals on Sunday 1 November, from 19:00. It's a virtual one, held over Zoom, so you can join in from home rather than heading out on a Sunday evening. The whole thing takes about 90 minutes.

The 'character matched' part is what sets it apart from a usual speed dating draw. When you register, you take a personality quiz, and the organisers use that, along with your age, to pair you up. The night itself is built around a series of short one-on-one video chats, all facilitated by a professional host who keeps things moving. It's a way of meeting people you're more likely to actually get on with, rather than just whoever happens to be sitting across from you.

There are four age bands to sign up for, so you can pick the one that fits you best: 18-32, 30-46, 40-58 and 55+. That means you'll be matched with people in your own age group, which takes a bit of the guesswork out of it. It's aimed at Sheffield locals, so the people you'll be chatting with are from around the city.

Places are limited, and it's worth keeping in mind that RSVPing doesn't count as registering—you'll need to go through the full sign-up process to secure a spot. It starts at 19:00 on Sunday 1 November and runs for roughly 90 minutes, all from your own sofa.
