Britpop band Shed Seven play the Octagon Centre in Sheffield on their 'Shedcember X' winter tour, with support from The Academic.
Shed Seven play the Octagon Centre on Friday 27 November, with support from The Academic. It's part of their winter tour, Shedcember X, which marks 30 years of A Maximum High and their song 'Chasing Rainbows'.
They first made a name for themselves as one of the Britpop era's defining bands, building a catalogue of seven Top 20 singles and six Top 10 albums, and a reputation as one of the UK's most powerful live acts. The last few years have been their most successful yet: in 2024 they made chart history with their first UK Number 1 album, A Matter Of Time, followed ten months later by a second Number 1, Liquid Gold. That puts them in the company of The Beatles, Elton John and David Bowie as artists to reach two UK Number 1 albums in a single calendar year. That same year they played the BBC Radio 2 Piano Room backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra.
2025 kept that momentum going. They delivered a critically acclaimed Glastonbury set that MOJO called a 'triumphant return' and were named Best Live Act at the Independent Music Awards. The Sheffield show is one stop on the Shedcember X tour, which centres on the 30th anniversary of A Maximum High and 'Chasing Rainbows'.
