Free open mic morning for over-18s to read their own or other people's poems on the theme of gloves at Sheffield Central Library.
Sheffield Central Library hosts another Sharing Poetry Open Mic Morning on Saturday 7 November, from 10:00 to 11:45. It's run by Libraries Sheffield, and the session is open to over-18s.
The format is straightforward: anyone who wants to take part stands up and reads aloud. You can read your own poems, or you can bring in something by another poet you've been thinking about. The morning's theme gives the contributions a loose shape, and this time around it's gloves. It's a simple enough prompt to work with, whether you're coming with something you've written specifically for it or just a poem that fits.
If you're not planning to read, you're more than welcome to just sit and listen. The session is free to attend, so there's no pressure to sign up if you'd rather spend the morning hearing what other people bring to the table. It's a low-stakes way to spend a Saturday morning in the city centre, especially if you've got a bit of poetry you've been meaning to share.
