Shanghai Treason

Shanghai Treason are playing Yellow Arch Studios on Friday 18 December, with the night running from 7:00pm to 11:00pm. They're a Yorkshire banjo folk rock band who describe their own music as politically charged, good-humoured and beer-drinking, pitched at big tops and festival fields. If you've never come across them, that's a fair summary of what they do: folk-inflected rock with a banjo at the centre, written for a crowd that's there to drink and dance as much as to listen.

They've spent a good deal of time on the road, touring the UK supporting acts as varied as Ferocious Dog, Stiff Little Fingers, Buzzcocks, Skinny Lister, Half Man Half Biscuit, The Undertones, Terrorvision and From The Jam, and headlining in their own right. Their recent festival appearances include Beautiful Days, Bearded Theory, Stone Valley, Northern Kin, Leopallooza, Maui Waui, Bingley Weekender and Rock N Roll Circus, alongside grassroots shindigs across England and Scotland. Their top track is cited as 'Bones'.

The night is presented by Yellow Arch Studios, with the bar open from 6:00pm and Slice Guys Pizza serving from the same time, so there's plenty of room to get sorted before the music starts. The show is 16+, with under-18s welcome if they're with an adult. Tickets are £19.04.
