Sheffield power pop band Orchidelia play Yellow Arch Studios in Neepsend with support from The Fourth Act.
Orchidelia play Yellow Arch Studios in Neepsend on Wednesday 28 October, with support from The Fourth Act. It's a mid-week one, and the night runs from 7:30pm to 11:00pm.
If you've come across them recently, you'll know they're one of the city's more melodic indie outfits. They first appeared on the Sheffield scene in 2021, having started out as a modest covers band before stepping out with their own songs. The core is a group of school friends — Miles, Milo and Jacob — and the lineup has grown since then: Marcus joined in 2022, and drummer Ben came on board in 2025. That makes them a five-piece now, which explains the harmony-heavy sound they've built around.
Their songs draw on 60s and 70s influences like The Who, The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Byrds. It's jangly, harmony-rich pop with a vintage charm to it, and it sits as a bright alternative to the grittier, guitar-driven bands that tend to dominate the local scene. If you're into that kind of melodic, vocal-led indie rock, this is exactly their territory.
