Beginner-friendly screen printing workshop at the social enterprise Printed by Us, where participants print their own designs on organic cotton T-shirts or tote bags.
Printed by Us are running a screen printing workshop on Tuesday 10 November, from 6pm to 9pm, with doors opening at 5:45pm. It's a three-hour session held at their studio in Craft Workshop 8, Orchard Square, right in Sheffield city centre (S1 2FB), and the whole thing is led by their own print team.
The setup is straightforward: you screen print your own designs onto T-shirts or tote bags. It's beginner-friendly, so you don't need to have ever touched a squeegee before to get involved; they provide all the materials and the guidance you'll need to work through it. The session is framed as a mindful, hands-on practice — the kind of thing that encourages you to slow down, focus on the moment, and leave the stress of the day behind while you work. You'll walk away with something you've actually made yourself, rather than just something you've bought.
There's a bit more to it than just the printing, too. Printed by Us is a Sheffield social enterprise run as part of The Archer Project, which creates supported employment opportunities for people who have experienced homelessness or other challenges. They combine screen printing and creativity with a social purpose, producing high-quality, ethically made products. The workshop is led by their print team, who describe the craft as a tool for positive change and a way to empower vulnerable adults through that supported employment programme. Every workshop attended helps fund more training, more opportunities, and more of that change.

It costs £50, which includes two organic cotton items — you can choose T-shirts or tote bags — and any extra items are £5 each. If you're bringing someone younger, under-16s need to attend with a parent or legal guardian. The session runs from 6pm to 9pm, with doors opening at 5:45pm, so you've got a few minutes to settle in before you start.
