A festive activity for children at Weston Park Museum where they can meet Santa, take part in hands-on craft sessions, and receive a present.
Santa's Workshop is back at Weston Park Museum this December, with sessions running on the 12th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd. It's a 50-minute slot aimed at younger visitors, and it's a return for Santa and his helpers, who've run these sessions here before.
The morning or afternoon you pick is split into two halves. First, there are hands-on festive craft activities run by the museum's elves, so the kids get to make something. After that, they head into Santa's grotto to meet him and take home a present. It's a straightforward setup: a bit of making, a visit to the big man, and a gift to carry away.
If you're not quite ready for the main run, there's also a Baby Friendly Santa Experience on Tuesday 15 December, which is a separate session for the very little ones.

Everyone attending needs a ticket, and all children have to be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two adults per child. Tickets are £12.50 per child, £6.00 for babies under 18 months — who get a gift but no craft — and £2.50 per adult. There are no refunds or ticket transfers with less than seven days' notice.
It's worth remembering where you're heading, too. Weston Park Museum on Western Bank has been open since 1875 and has drawn visitors for nearly 150 years. Alongside the changing exhibitions, you'll find the natural science favourites Spike the Woolly Rhino and Snowy the Polar Bear, the Picturing Sheffield gallery of local art, Ancient Egypt, Beneath Your Feet and What On Earth. If you've got a bit of extra time, there's plenty to see around the museum before or after the session.
