Three-hour festive session to learn a 'stitch and flip' technique and make your own Christmas stocking, with all materials and tools provided.
Ed's Textile Studio is running Christmas stocking workshops on Saturday 14, 21 and 28 November, with each session running from 10:30 to 13:30. It's a three-hour slot where you'll learn a 'stitch and flip' technique to design and make your own Christmas stocking, and you take the finished thing home with you.
All the materials and tools are provided, and they've got hot drinks and light refreshments on the table too, so you don't need to bring anything but yourself. The main thing you'll be working on is that stitch and flip method, which is the core of the session and what you'll use to put your stocking together.
In terms of what you need to know beforehand, you should be able to sew a reasonably straight line and follow a gentle curve. If you're new to a sewing machine or just not that confident with one, there's a complimentary 30-minute introductory lesson that runs before the main session on each of the three days, starting at 10:00. It's a good way to get your bearings before the proper making begins.
