Free private view of two new group exhibitions, 'Abstract' and 'Still & Life', at the artist-led Fronteer Gallery in Sheffield.
Fronteer Gallery is opening two exhibitions at once on Saturday 24 October, with a private view from 16:00 to 18:00. It's a double bill that pulls from opposite ends of the art world: Abstract and Still & Life.
Abstract is the larger of the two, a group show featuring more than 50 UK-based artists. It brings together abstract work across a wide range of styles and disciplines, so you'll see quite a bit of variety under one roof. Still & Life sits alongside it, bringing together 25 UK-based artists showing small-scale, domestic-themed work. The two shows open at the same time, and the private view is the first chance to see them both.
Fronteer is an artist-led space run by Sheffield artists Michael and Sharon Borkowsky, who started it as an initiative dedicated to providing opportunities for artists. That's the core of what they do here, and these two exhibitions are the latest part of that. The gallery's own programme keeps going after this, too, with a Perfume Making Workshop on 13 December.
