Beer and cheese pairing pop-up evening with five hand-selected pairings from Cheese Riot at The Wonky Labrador.
Cheese Riot and The Wonky Labrador are teaming up for a beer and cheese pop-up on Thursday 3 December, running from 7pm to 10pm at the bar on 212 Oakbrook Road in Sheffield S11. The whole night is built around pairing the two, and it works its way through five hand-selected combinations chosen to complement, contrast and bring out the best in every bite and sip.
The beer styles run from crisp, characterful saisons to rich, decadent imperial stouts, and the cheese is kept as a surprise until the night. You'll move through the five pairings one by one, so you get a proper look at how different beers sit with different cheeses rather than just a random board of bits. It's a slow, indulgent way to spend an evening, and since the cheese stays under wraps, you won't know exactly what's coming until it's in front of you.
For those who haven't been, The Wonky Labrador is a cosy Sheffield bar that keeps a steady stream of regulars alongside one-off features. There's a weekly quiz every Sunday evening, and a Monday Movie Night every other week with the films suggested by customers. The first Monday of the month is Mental Health Monday, which comes with a free soft or non-alcoholic drink. This pop-up is one of those one-off features that sits alongside the usual run.
