Monthly fantasy and sci-fi book club meeting to discuss 'The Hollow Places' by T. Kingfisher, with coffee and conversation.
Plots & Pals are launching their new fantasy and sci-fi book club at The Treehouse Board Game Café on Wednesday 28 October, and the first book on the list is The Hollow Places by T. Kingfisher. It's the very first meeting of the club, so it's a good time to get in on the ground floor.
Plots & Pals is an independent bookseller, and they've set this up in collaboration with The Treehouse, where the club will run on the last Wednesday of every month. The organisers describe themselves as genre fiction lovers, and they'll pick a different title each time with the aim of reading a diverse selection across the sci-fi and fantasy genres. The session itself closes with coffee and conversation around the table, so it's as much about the chat as it is about the reading.
If you're coming along, there's a couple of things to keep in mind. You can get a ticket that includes a brand new copy of the month's book, which you can collect from the café in advance, so you've got plenty of time to finish it before the meeting. The Treehouse's food and drinks menu is open from 6pm, so if you want to grab a bite or a drink before the session kicks off, you can head in early.
