Weekend of spoken word, poetry, music and a Sunday newspaper review by Chunky Mark at Cole's Corner.
The Pigeon Show returns to Cole's Corner on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, bringing back Chunky Mark — also known as 'The Artist Taxi Driver' — for a weekend of words, music, politics and mischief. It's not one long show, but two distinct sessions on separate days, so you can pick the one that suits you or do both.
Saturday afternoon is an open mic for spoken word, poetry, music and ideas. It's a mixed bag of people getting up on stage to share whatever they've been working on, and it runs from 3pm to 6pm. If you've got something you've been wanting to try out in front of an audience, this is the slot for it.
Sunday morning is a different beast entirely: 'The Sunday Newspaper Review'. Chunky takes on the week's headlines, politics and the state of the world, and he's joined by a special guest for the session. It runs from 10.30am to 12.30pm, so it's a late-morning thing rather than a late-night one.

Between the two, the show is aimed at aspiring performers, spoken word artists and budding comedians. If you're into that side of things, there's a spot for you on Saturday; if you're more in the mood for a political post-mortem on Sunday, that's the one. Cole's Corner is at 322 Abbeydale Road, Sheffield S7 1FN. Saturday is 3pm to 6pm, and Sunday is 10.30am to 12.30pm.
