Free exhibition by the Sheffield Bird Study Group about the peregrine falcon and the project to bring the species back to Sheffield city centre.
Peregrines is a continuing display at Weston Park Museum, Sheffield's largest museum, which sits in a Grade II listed building on Western Bank. It's presented by the Sheffield Bird Study Group and focuses on the peregrine falcon, with a particular look at the project to bring the species back to Sheffield city centre.
The city's connection to the bird goes back a fair way. At the University of Sheffield, peregrines have nested and bred in the tower of Grade II listed St George's Church every year, so they're not just visitors here—they've made a proper home of the place. The display lets you get a handle on the bird itself and the work that's gone into encouraging them to settle back into the city.

You'll find it in the What On Earth! gallery, inside the museum. Entry is free, though they ask for a £5 donation. If you're planning a proper trip of it, there's a cafe on site called Ambulo for a coffee or a bit of lunch before or after. The museum is on Western Bank, Sheffield S10 2TP.
