Interactive outdoor escape game for two in which players solve puzzles using their surroundings on Devonshire Green, themed 'Murder on the Don'.
Murder on the Don is an outdoor escape game for two, running from Devonshire Green in Sheffield on Tuesday 27 October. It's put on by The Secret City, a company that's been making city-based escape games across the UK and internationally for more than half a decade.
Rather than being locked in a room, you're out in the city. The game works through SMS and messaging apps, which drop you into a narrative woven right into the streets. Characters push the story forward as you go, and a string of clues lead you on — you'll need to use your surroundings to find the answers. It's a puzzle-filled urban adventure, so you'll be on your feet and paying attention to the details of the city around you.
One of the better things about the format is how flexible it is. Bookings can be altered freely in terms of date, time and number of people, and once you've started a game, you can stop and pick it up again whenever suits you. If you're not in the mood to race through it in one go, you can take your time and work your way through the clues at your own pace.

It's £53 for two people, and since it's an outdoor game, you'll want to dress for the weather. The game starts from Devonshire Green, so you'll be exploring the city on foot.
