Informal evening of eight startup showcases with live demos and networking over food and drinks at Trafalgar Warehouse.
The Northern Tech Summit Startup Showcase is at Trafalgar Warehouse on Wednesday 21 October, an informal evening put on by TECH SY as part of the Northern Tech Summit in South Yorkshire. It's a standalone event, so you'll need a separate ticket for this one rather than just a pass for the main summit. The night is built around a curated showcase of Northern startups, and it's designed to fuel the discussions that carry over into day two of the summit.
Kate Josephs, Chief Executive at Sheffield City Council, opens the evening with a welcome address. After that, the focus shifts to the startups themselves: eight of them, each with three minutes to pitch, and each bringing a live demo to show what they're actually building. It's a fast-paced run through eight different companies from across the North, so you'll see a fair bit of ground covered in a short space of time. Once the pitches are done, the rest of the evening is laid-back networking over food and drinks, where you can catch up with the founders and the other people in the room.

The crowd is a mix of founders, investors and tech leaders, and the whole thing is meant to be informal rather than a formal presentation. If you're coming straight from the summit's main agenda at the Crucible, you're welcome from 3:30 PM, so you can settle in before things get going. The showcase runs from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM at Trafalgar Warehouse, 120 Trafalgar Street, Sheffield City Centre, S1 4JT, and tickets are £5.00 via Eventbrite.
