Grassroots night of grunge, hard rock and punk headlined by No Severance (formerly 54KG), Hurls, Resurfaced and Patchwork Dots.
No Severance, Hurls, Resurfaced and Patchwork Dots all play Network on Saturday 21 November, a four-band bill put on by Red Pen Promotions. They've billed it as a heavy-laden, up-and-coming grassroots night of grunge, hard rock and punk, and the line-up holds up to that: four bands from the region, all working around the louder end of the spectrum.
No Severance, formerly known as 54KG, are a five-piece Sheffield rock band made up of Joe Bones, Tenzin Ellams, Alex Mason, Jack Dent and Alfie Ransom. They describe themselves as energetic and aggressive, with the sound of a classic heavy, hard-edged punk band. They put out the EP Nobody Cares, Nobody Knows in 2022 and were recording an album due early the following year. Joining them from Nottingham are Hurls, a trio of Alex on guitar, Alex on bass and Tom on drums, who blend the noise, angst and chaos of punk and garage rock with somber melodies drawing on 90s grunge. Resurfaced are a Sheffield punk band, and Patchwork Dots are an alternative indie-folk grunge-rock band from South Yorkshire, known for songs like 'Sea Salt', 'Televised Screams' and 'Blurry Eyed', and for their 2026 album Whichever Filter Makes You Feel OK.
