MT Jones plays Yellow Arch Studios in Neepsend on Sunday 25 October, with Smith & Liddle opening the night. It's a full evening of live music, running from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
Jones has a bit of a story behind him. He first got noticed busking as a kid on the streets of Chester, and from there he moved on to sold-out rooms across the UK, including the Arts Club Loft in Liverpool and Islington Assembly Hall in London. He's since taken things overseas, with his first US headline shows at Los Angeles' Moroccan Lounge in December and Brooklyn's Baby's All Right in January. He's also toured with St. Paul & The Broken Bones and played London's Union Chapel.
As for the sound, he describes it as blending the warmth of 60s and 70s greats with the texture of modern R&B and jazz, rooted in timeless songwriting, live instrumentation and a voice that carries both vulnerability and power. It's a broad enough description to cover a fair bit of ground, so it's the kind of thing that's best heard in the room rather than read about.
