Preston folk trio Mobius Loop, on their Right To Roam Tour, play The Greystones with support from Rebecca Hearne.
Mobius Loop bring their Right To Roam Tour to The Greystones on Wednesday 2 December, with Rebecca Hearne on support. The show is presented by Board Walk Live and is open to all ages.
Mobius Loop are a rebel folk trio from Preston, Lancashire, led by Alexander Orion and Rose Orion. They describe themselves as a grassroots activist band and one of the UK's most viral and polarising independent acts — a combination that usually means they're not afraid to be loud about what they stand for. Their live set is billed as an energetic, riotous, foot-stomping performance of world-music-inspired peace anthems, and they've built their reputation on getting people to dance and sing together.
That sound comes from a few different places at once: world folk and gypsy folk mixed with conscious rap and eruptions of free-form dance. They describe the whole thing as an organic co-operative voice for humanist spirituality, vegan philosophy, grassroots philanthropy, true democracy and alchemical magic, all in the name of Hemp Redemption and the infinite unknown. It's a lot to take in, and they're open about the fact that they draw both praise and criticism for it. Their aim, as they put it, is to rise above political, religious and cultural divisions by welcoming everyone to the dance floor.
