Welsh singer-songwriter John Adams plays The Greystones on Greystones Road, on his UK tour.
John Adams plays The Greystones on Tuesday 27 October, one of eight dates on his current UK tour. He's a Welsh singer-songwriter whose work sits somewhere between contemporary pop and the evocative folk he was raised on, and he'll be performing solo.
His songs tend to lean into love, connection and vulnerability, and he describes his live shows as intimate and quietly captivating. That's a good way of putting it — they're the kind of set where the focus stays on the voice and the lyrics rather than a big production. He's a regular on BBC Radio 2, and his releases have run up more than 250 million streams, so while the shows are small, there's a fair bit of ground behind them. His music has also turned up on television, with cuts appearing on Love Island, I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! and The Voice, and more recently recorded by Calum Scott.
He's earned praise from Clare Balding at BBC Radio 2, Gary Barlow and Carol Vorderman, the latter describing his shows as 'sensational'. The Sheffield date is part of an eight-date UK tour, so it's one of a handful of stops he's making across the country this run.
