Relaxed evening of guided conversation in small groups using conversation cards, with table rotation and a free mingle at the end.
Meaningful Conversations is back at Slug & Lettuce on Sunday 14 February, running from 15:30 for two hours. It's one of the guided discussion evenings run by Meaningful Discussions, aimed at people who want to meet new faces in a more genuine way than the usual social mixer.
The whole point is to sidestep the small talk. Instead of the standard "what do you do for a living" and "where are you from", you sit in small groups and work through guided conversation cards. They're there to spark deeper, realer chats and open up new perspectives, so you're talking about things that actually matter rather than just filling the silence. It's a structured way of getting to the good stuff without having to do all the heavy lifting yourself.
There's a bit of movement to it, too. Everyone rotates tables through four guided rounds, which means you'll have connected with several different people in the room by the time the structured part wraps up. Once the rounds are over, the session closes with a free mingle, so you can keep talking to anyone you clicked with. It's designed to feel welcoming and easy to join, whether you turn up on your own or bring someone along.
