Stand-up comedy show 'Jest To Impress' by Mark Simmons, winner of Dave's Funniest Joke of the Fringe 2024.
Mark Simmons brings his new show Jest To Impress to Foundry on Wednesday 25 November, starting at 7:30pm. He's billed as a master of one-liners, and that's exactly what you'll get: a set built on short, sharp jokes rather than long stories. He won Dave's Funniest Joke of the Fringe in 2024, and you'll recognise him from Mock The Week, BT Sport and ITV.
Jest To Impress is packed with new one-liners, but it's not all written in advance. He keeps his trademark off-the-cuff jokes in the mix, built from random suggestions he takes from the audience on the night, so no two shows end up being the same. It's a good night for anyone who prefers a fast pace to a slow burn.
Beyond the stage, he's got a couple of podcasts on the go. Jokes With Mark Simmons is the one where he invites other comics — Gary Delaney, Sarah Millican, Milton Jones and Penn & Teller have all stopped by — to talk about jokes they wrote but couldn't quite get to work. He also co-hosts a movie podcast with Seann Walsh.
